Encrypted PDF files by the NAGIX
The NAGIX system can process both encrypted and unencrypted PDF files.
One of the key ISO requirements is the “Content Copying for Accessibility” permission, which is set in Document Restrictions (File Properties → Security tab).
To specify Owner and User passwords, use the convention:
- for specify both passwords: ownerpassword|userpassword
- for specify owner password only : ownerpassword
- for specify user password only : |userpassword
Possible PDF encryption states
- Encrypted with User Password only
- Encrypted with Owner Password only
- Encrypted with both User Password & Owner Password
- Not encrypted
What NAGIX know at during process
- The User password is known, but the Owner password is unknown
- The Owner password is known, but the User password is unknown
- Neither the Owner nor the User password is known
- Owner and User password is known
If a PDF encrypted for opening with a User password and NAGIX does not know this password, NAGIX cannot do anything and will return an error.
